Improve Facility Safety

PakSouth helped a large Auto parts Distributor repair their damaged racking across multiple facilities. Replacing damaged racking uprights is not a simple task. Removing inventory, disrupting production, matching existing uprights, and installing new rack uprights can all create costly downtime to the operation. Our customer needed a simple solution to an important aspect of their operation, employee safety. By far, the most common rack damage is found on the front column of the pallet rack frame due to forklift impact. Additional upright damage to the reinforcing horizontal and diagonal struts is also likely whenever column damage is found. There are rack repair solutions for all types of pallet rack damage. Benefits of rack repair:
  1. Safety (we’ve all seen the YouTube videos of damaged pallet racking coming down like dominos)
  2. Cost savings – do not need to purchase new uprights and replace
  3. Labor time savings – potentially keep your products on the racking while it is being repaired
  4. Added strength – repair braces are stronger than the original pallet rack (10 or 12ga steel)
In most instances you can leave your product in the racks if it doesn’t affect the repair site, while we jack the beam, amputate the damaged portion, and install the repair kit. Pallet rack repair is a great value and cost savings because it saves you the time and labor of taking your inventory off the racks, tearing down your racking, buying new racking, and taking the time to install it. The repair work is completed while you do your work, so no need to shut down your operation! It’s a great option to create a much safer work environment.
