Stealthwrap is a new packaging film that enables the shipper to eliminate over boxing non-fragile items. The traditional pic-n-pack method requires the packer to place the item into a “shipper” box. Often the balance of open space in the carton is filled with dunnage material such as air pillows or paper. Not only was this method very labor intensive the over boxing resulted in additional shipping charges due to the increased dimensions.
The Stealthwrap process helps to eliminate the excess labor of traditional methods while “right sizing” the shipment to significantly reduce shipping costs. The item to be shipped is wrapped in a protective film and then the film shrinks to fit the item. Stealthwrap is engineered to withstand the abuses of the shipping environment and helps insure a damage free shipment.
Since the film shrinks to fit the item there is a dramatic decrease the space and inventory required for corrugated boxes. Eliminating the box, tape, dunnage materials and excess packaging labor really impacts the bottom line.
Shipping shoe boxes is one great example of a great fit for the Stealthwrap solution. We were able to package 20 shoe boxes per minute including print and apply for the shipping label. It’s basically 5 times faster than traditional methods not to mention the outstanding freight reductions.
